Features to know about

Keep the Rear Level and Stable: 8,600-lb Suspension Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can push the rear of your truck down and lift the front, throwing off handling and braking. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 8,600 lbs of extra support above the rear axle to keep things level. The hollow rubber springs sit about 1 inch above the axle when unloaded and progressively stiffen as weight is added. That means a smoother ride when empty, and firm, controlled support when loaded so steering, braking, and headlight aim stay right where they should.

Ride Smooth Over Rough Roads: Rubber Springs that Absorb Shock

Bumps, dips, and uneven pavement are easier to handle when the rubber springs take the hit instead of your suspension. Each Aeon hollow spring compresses under load to cushion impacts and reduce harsh jolts before they reach the frame. By acting as shock absorbers for the rear end, they help prevent bottoming out on rough roads and cut down on wear to your factory suspension.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When a trailer sways or a curve tries to push you off line, each spring works on its own to steady that side of the vehicle. The independent action helps control body roll during sharp turns or swerves, keeps off-center or uneven loads from leaning the truck, and calms trailer sway faster after wind gusts or passing traffic.

Simple Bolt-On Upgrade: No Air Lines or Drilling Needed

Installing load support doesn’t have to mean running hoses or wiring compressors. This system bolts directly onto existing frame mounts using vehicle-specific brackets and hardware. It replaces the factory bump stops with no drilling required. Once mounted, the springs need no adjustments or maintenance—just reliable support every time you hitch up or haul heavy cargo.

8,600-lb Capacity. These hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle to help stabilize and level your vehicle. They also provide a more comfortable ride by absorbing road shock and improving roll stability. Easy to install and use.

by:

Works perfectly! Other than some rusted bolts the install was easy.

by:

I love this option for load leveling and keeping our camper from swaying. This is the second truck I've installed these on. Super easy to install. Keeps the factory smooth ride unless you hit a big bump. When loaded, the ride is great. They take the bounciness out of the load. The only negative would be they're a little over priced for a chunk of rubber but otherwise I highly recommend these.

by:

purchased for my 2022 Ram 2500 Limited 4X4. Once I got it in hand and did measurements it was obvious that with the weight I normally carry these would be engaged all the time and affect the ride so didn't get them installed. Also, on the Ram the right side was going to be a challenge without putting the truck on a lift.

I want you to be able to use the Timbren springs. As long as there is a 0.5 inch to 1 and a half inch gap between the rubber spring and the contract point on the axle when the truck is unloaded then they will work correctly for you. It is normal for the springs to be in constant contact with the axle when loaded this is going to give you the smoothest ride. It is actually when the truck is unloaded with springs on that you may experience a rougher ride.

by:

Took longer to read the instructions and clean then grease off my arm (which I got from rubbing against the lower shock mount), than it did to install. The drivers side is SIMPLE, the passengers side is a bit more tricky, because on the 2014 RAM 2500, the right side mount is directly ahead of the upper suspension torsion bar mount, so it's tough to get a wrench in there. I have a 15mm curved thin wrench, which worked perfectly! I've attached photos of both sides, so that you can see what I mean.

by:

Excellent product! Went on in less than 10 minutes with a 15/16" wrench. Leveled the truck out under load and significantly reduced roll. Awesome bang for the buck. And etrailer service was spot on, as usual.

I still think these are an excellent alternative to bags and very cost effective. My only complaint is that on my 15 Ram 2500 I have to switch out the extra spacers when I’m not towing heavy. The axle and Timbren spacers make contact when unloaded and causes a harsh ride. The good news is that the extra spacers go in and out in minutes I don’t tow heavy very often. With the spacers in I am able to pull a 43’ toy hauler with little roll and excess bounce, an the truck sits fairly level

by:

I haul a big 5th wheel trailer with my 2500 ram and these Timbren rear suspension enhancement system made a world of difference. So glad I purchased them a year ago and still going strong.

by:

Worked as advertised used them this weekend highly recommended got to me fast only took about 30 minutes to assemble and install

Still going strong better then Airbags have had both performance wise timbres are better

by:

because I haul a Truck Camper I needed something to reduce rocking, Works great.

by:

This product made all the difference in hauling our truck camper!! The sway/rocking is gone and the ride is so much smoother!! They were so easy to install and even better than we had hoped!

by:

These things work as advertised. Quick and easy installation. Hundreds of dollars cheaper than airbag. can ride a little rough.

by:

Installed on 21 Ram 2500. With spacers and no load, springs were engaged resulting in super stiff ride. Took spacers out, that gave about 1/2" gap. With no load ride quality was back to factory. A home modified 16mm wrench is needed for the rear bolt on both sides. Install took about 1 hour, including removing the spacers. Have used these on previous pickup, always satisfied.

by:

Very easy install, did not need to raise vehicle, had plenty of room. 2025 Ram 2500, no spacer needed, 1in space.

by:

Great system works great, USPS lost the 1st shipment, Dietrich from Etrailer, worked on seeing where it was then sending me a new shipment. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Etrailer and commend Dietrich for going above and beyond

by:

Easy install. Lifted truck by hitch to stretch suspension and installed new set. Pulling as fifth well got rid of the bounce.

by:

I’ve installed them on my truck but haven’t had the opportunity to haul my fifth wheel yet. Plan on making a trip towards the end of March so we’ll see how they perform. It was an easy install by removing tire and removing existing bump stops and replaced with the overloads. Box was torn open and I was worried parts may be missing but all was good

by:

Easy installation great with a trailer attached however can be a harsh ride with no load.

Glad you like them, Chuck! Well, mostly anyway. I do hear these can be harsh when unloaded and it is probably the only real complaint we get about them. They definitely do one heck of a job when you are loaded up though! How often are you towing? And what do you typically tow?

by:

Bought these for a 2017 Ram 1500 for a more stable ride and was impressed. So much, that I Bought a second set for my 2021 Ram 2500. Now, even though it's a lil firmer ride, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again

Where're you off to next, Mike?

by:

Got these installed in about 45 min on RAM 2500. Because I started mounting them with the wrong bolt first. Start off with the bolt going into the slot first. But I have made three trips so far and I can tell a much smoother ride. Highly recommend. They have worked great for me

by:

Keeps my Ram 2500 from squatting as much when towing my travel trailer, would buy again. Easy to install too.

by:

These were a nightmare to pur 0n a 2018 ram 2500. What a pain. I had to make a tool to tighten the new bumpstops on. Still have extra bolts. Im apprehensive.

by:

Put passenger side mounting plate on 1st using rear bolt. Tighten bolt to snug, turn plate counter-clockwise, attach Timbren, rotate clockwise into position, put 2nd bolt and tighten, tighten 1st bolt with wrench. 30 minutes. Hope to remove sway on my 2025 ram 2500. Bed dropped 1" on both sides with 2200 lb. truck camper on board. Did not use spacer. About 1 in. gap as recommended. Rode normal over bumpy local roads! Ty Etrailer! Ty Timbren! Ty Joann And shipping! A+++

by:

Installed on 2026 Ram 2500 Laramie. Had problems during the install. The rear bolt on the passenger side Timbren, almost impossible to tighten once you put the Timbren on. There is a support structure located within inches allowing extremely limited space. Removal of the bump stops was easy.
I had watched the video and you will notice there is an antisway bar mount, right behind the passenger side Timbren you are mounting.
I went and purchased the closed end ratchet wrenches. When I put the screws on for the passenger side, it was very tricky. I went into the wheel well and turned the Timbren slighty with the front portion I pivoted on the rear bolt towards the drivers side. I then tightened the rear Timbren bolt, best I could, used an extension from a ratchet, to pivot the Timbren in place and put the other bolt in. I then used the closed end ratchet, to tighten, ONE CLICK AT A TIME, the rear bolt. I would move the wrench until it clicked. Take it off, move the inside of the ratchet wrench, ONE CLICK, then put it back on, move until one click was heard and repeated that until the bolt was tight.
There is NO WAY to use an open end wrench. You MUST HAVE a closed end ratchet wrench to put these on.

Timbren, if you are listening, please, please modify this design as the passenger side rear bolt is almost impossible to tighten.

It was only by the Grace of God, I was able to figure out how to get the closed end ratchet wrench to do one click at a time to get the bolt tightened.
If you are installing on a Ram 2500, be patient and have the ratcheting closed end wrenches. It was 16mm.

I was in a rush to get something on my truck to keep the back end from sagging. I pull a 24ft enclosed trailer. Around #7000.
And I pull a lot. We race twice a weekend around Indiana and I only drive the truck when it’s hooked to the trailer. I think if you only pulled occasionally this would be a great option. But the ride is stiff when it’s on the overloads because that’s how it works. I really should switch over to air bags to make the ride less harsh. But for the money these do exactly what they say and they’ll last forever. This my second set. I had them on my 1500 with a 20’ trailer before. They’re just as good on the 2500.
If you pull daily/weekly get air bags. If you’re only pulling once in a while these will do the job just fine.

by:

I started out with a little trouble. The parts shipped to me came in a broken box, and some parts were missing. I returned them through the mail, and a trailer sent me another sat right away. They stood behind their product well.

The bump stops, fit my truck very well, but I did have to come up with some bolts to mount their plate to my truck as the ones on the truck were much too long.

  • Do Timbren Jounce Springs Work With Shocks Already Installed On 2018 Ram 2500 4X4?
Good morning Michael, yes they are only made to supplement existing factory suspension on your 2018 Ram 2500 4x4. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR2500D get added in place of your existing bump stops on your truck's real axle, adding some reinforcement and support so that your suspension doesn't sag and get worn out as quickly. Are you towing full time, or is this just going to be towing the camper for some parts of the year, then go unloaded for the rest of the year?...

Hey Lonny, The Timbren Suspension Enhancement # TDR2500D for your vehicle is going to be great at better absorbing the shock when towing so it is less noticeable. I am not too familiar with the Bilstein Shocks but I imagine that paired with the Timbrens is going to do nothing but help. Airbags are going to help more with and tilt or roll you feel so I agree going with the Timbren is the way to go. That kit I mentioned is a custom fit kit so no drilling is required. Hey Joseph. Since your 2022 Ram 2500 has the factory air suspension, I recommend adding the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System item # TDR2500D. These progressive rate springs install where your bump stops are currently mounted. The more weight you put on them the more they will engage and support your truck's suspension. • Will Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Add Ride Height When Towing ?
Hello Shawn, thanks for reaching out. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR2500D will fit the 2025 Ram 2500. Since you have a 4" lift you will need a few 1" spacers # A25723-90AH00 to compensate. These will not necessarily add any ride height when towing your 5th wheel, but they will prevent the truck from sagging as much, so it may ride slightly higher than it did before. Keep in mind if spacers are used, you will need to source longer bolts locally.

Hi Paul! Since you said occasional towing, I am going to steer you away from the Timbren option. They can be pretty rough and you will definitely feel it when you are not towing. If you had a constant load, it would have been an option, but I don't think you will be happy with them. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-312-54 will be the much better choice.
